Enjoy being a beginner.

"Enjoy the awkward, struggle and excitement of being a beginner because once you start to master your craft you will never be a beginner again."

This was a lesson I learned for the first time in Nina Martin's Contact Improvisation class at TCU. At the time I was struggling with an inversion sequence

and getting very down on myself because I was not picking up the techniques as fast as I had expected. While I was very advanced in most of my dancing, being a novice again was felt very scary. Once Nina encouraged me to slow down and enjoy the moments of amateur, I was able to accept where I was in my inversion journey and focus less on the end and more on the process.
